OUR STORY

Family winery and viticulture

Viticulture and winemaking were founded in 1995 by Ing. Milan Pavelka. He put his many years of experience in the field of grape growing and wine production, as well as continuing the tradition of his ancestors, to good use in his family winery.

Since his children also got the winemaking blood into the vine, they accompany him in his life’s work and the fulfillment of his dream hand in hand with his wife. In 1997, Pavelka® wine received the first state control mark, which only confirmed the exceptional position of the winery on the Slovak market.

Since then, Pavelka® wine has been a guarantee of first-class quality and gives the chance to get to know the terroir of the best from the Little Carpathians. Vinohradníctvo PAVELKA A SYN, s.r.o. today manages 50 hectares of its own vineyards in the heart of the Little Carpathian wine-growing region in Pezinok, of which 5 hectares are renewed and improved every year.

Vineyards

Our vineyards, with a combination of location, soil and climate conditions, allow us to grow grapes of such quality that they give our wines their unique and exceptional character. This area creates suitable conditions for growing white varieties Müller Thurgau, Grüner Veltliner, Rizling Wlašský, Rizling Rýnsky, Sauvignon, Pinot gris, Pinot blanc, Chardonnay, Pálava and Traminer červený.

Of the red varieties grown in our family vineyards, Pinot noir, Blue Frankovka, Neronet, Alibernet, Cabernet Sauvignon and novošlachtenec Dunaj are grown. 4 years ago we also planted Solaris, today we have our first wine from it.

At the beginning of 2020, we launched a new special design edition of ONA wine, which is tailor-made for women.

Production

We produce wines with the protected designation of origin of the attributive wines of the PAVELKA brand. For consumers who prefer lighter wines, we have been offering quality varietal wines of the CHATEAU ZUMBERG brand since 2005. The millennium brought to the market for wine lovers our flagship cuvées PAVES white and PAVES red, which are aged in barrique barrels.

Since the beginning of our family winery, quality has been the first priority, honest work in caring for the vineyards and growing grapes, as well as the subsequent production of exceptional wines. We strive to ensure that by drinking quality wines, people enrich their lives with a unique experience and recognize that the fullness of life also includes the fullness of the taste of wine.

Therefore, our motto is: “Life is too short to drink bad wine!”
